How to join Challenging Arthritis

 

Arthritis News coverTo participate in this program you have three options:

1. You can join the Challenging Arthritis program and become a member of Arthritis NSW and Arthritis ACT. In this option the all inclusive payment entitles you to enrolment for Challenging Arthritis and one year free membership of Arthritis NSW and Arthritis ACT

2. You can join the Challenging Arthritis program by registering and making the same payment as within Option 1 (above) but without becoming a member of Arthritis NSW and Arthritis ACT

3. Existing members of Arthritis NSW and Arthritis ACT can enrol for no charge as part of their membership

keeping fit helps youWhat are the benefits of becoming a member of Arthritis NSW and Arthritis ACT?

The cost of joining the program, if you choose, can include you becoming a member of Arthritis NSW and Arthritis ACT. This membership includes the following:

  • A quarterly magazine that contains high quality information from international and local sources on a variety of subjects related to Arthritis.
  • Information about our warm water exercise classes run in the Sydney metropolitan area and some regional country centres in NSW.
  • Telephone advice on arthritis and osteoporosis through our toll free phone number 1800 332 131. Health professionals will answer your questions on this phone line.
  • Access to our Branch membership, there are fifty-five support groups and branches in NSW with 7000 members to provide support and information for people who have arthritis in the local community. Branches also provide a point of advocacy for people to outline their concerns and issues about arthritis.
  • There will be opportunities for you to purchase, books, videos, Christmas cards and other resources.
  • Advance information about workshops and seminars.
  • You will be contributing to research initiatives to find a cure for arthritis.

Challenging Arthritis Privacy Statement

On 21 December, 2001 new privacy provisions came into effect to protect personal privacy. These provisions regulate the way organisations collect, use, keep secure and disclose personal information about individuals involved with the organisation. For the first time, it gives individuals the right to know what information an organisation holds about them and a right to correct that information if it is wrong.

Arthritis NSW has always regarded your information as confidential and we ensure that confidentiality is maintained and your privacy is respected.

All the details of our members, donors and contacts are held on a single computer database at Arthritis NSW. Access to this database is restricted. This information is held to provide a full financial history of the Foundation and to assist with planning fundraising activities. It is a requirement that where we have given a taxation receipt we retain the details for seven years.

Should you decide not to supply full name and address details when making a gift, we are unable to supply you with a taxation receipt.

We take all reasonable steps to protect your personal information from misuse, loss, unauthorised access, modification or disclosure and information is stored securely whether in an electronic or physical form.

You can request access at any time to personal information we hold about you. You may ask us at any time to correct personal information held by us about you, which you believe, is incorrect or out of date.
